| | accomplished | ] | Today was our last day in the band for the sec 4s and 5s.
I didn't intend to join band back in sec 1 and I can't believe i actually wanted to join PM cause i thought it was fun as they get to slack and play games. The reason why i didn't want to join band was because of the number of practices we had to attend each week. However, i still went for the band audition and I got into band immediately because SOMEONE went to tell Mr De that I was from primary school band.
In sec 1, I was a total noob because back in primary school, I didn't learn much as the primary school band was only formed when i was p4. However, I still went for the National Band Competition with Sharmaine, Veronica and I can't remember who else, together with the rest of the seniors. Played Renegade Dances and St. Petersburg March and we got a GOLD. Then was Junior Band Festival. Thinking back, i feel stupid for what I've done. Tying 2 ponytails, our gimmicks and of course, i will never ever forget how bonded and united we were as a batch. We actually thought we were cool playing Fanfare 2000, Twist and Shout, The Tempest, Power Rock and Ode To Saints. The videos are still up on youtube. Wow. Oh, and there was Balloon Hat Festival at Sentosa too. I can still remember Audrey brought her suntanning oil so all of us started applying it on our arms and legs, hoping we would get tanned. HAHA. Balloons sucks.
In sec 2, our batch and the seniors got to go to Hawaii. I was the only trombonist in the intermediate band. I swear I felt damn lonely luh. But i enjoyed myself and I bonded alot with my section. We even formed the Trombone Council. Speed shopping, chilling at the beach, grocery shopping in the night, supper in our hotel rooms, breakfast in the zoo, dinner and dance, epping boys, rainbow at Pearl Harbour and many other things which we did together. I will NEVER forget all those. Ru Jing and Candy left our section and of course, the standard of our section dropped.
In sec 3, Ruoen's batch left us and we felt really lost. I was the section leader and I felt that I didn't do anything for my section. My whole section was in a mess, everyone were total noobs and yet, I only cared about myself, neglecting my juniors. I'm going to make a public apology to all of you now. SORRY YATI, RASHEEQA, YANI, CHARLOTTE AND QIN QIAN. Moving on.. In July, we went for SIBF at Republic Poly. Played Canticles of the Saints and St. Petersburg March. Though we didn't get what we actually hoped for, we still continued to work hard and strived for the best. At the end of the year, we had a band camp. Hardcore practising was what we did throughout the 3 days. I didn't attend the 3rd day though. Sorry SACCB, especially my section, Oli, Ness, Mich and of course, Mr de. There was also the TPJC band festival. Shall not elaborate on it. :D
This year, we had our SYF. The week before our SYF, we had band practice EVERY SINGLE DAY except Sunday. Although it was really tiring, we improved ALOT and of course, all our hard work paid off. We had our last POP today. Thank you juniors for everything. Although everything was in a rush, we still enjoyed ourselves. The sec 4s and 5 played our last piece, Big Sky Overture, as a batch together. The piece brought back lots of memories.
Lastly, Thank you Vanessa, Olivia and Michelle for doing SO MUCH for the band. Best DM and BMs ever. And also, thank you everyone for making my band life such a memorable one. I will remember each and everyone of you. Don't worry, I'll still be going back for band. :D
To my awesome section: You will receive my awesome letter on Thursday/Friday.
